Waning Crescent Moon Poem by Adam Hannigan

Waning Crescent Moon

A life draws to a close
Troubles tapered to points at both ends
Unfinished clever artwork needed to transpose
It is far too late to make earthly amends
Can you enlighten us with diminutive embrace?
Are We to be Shoved so hastily into the dark
Limbs placated under the lash of this final disgrace
Young embattled a dirth of contrast so stark
Growing old bye death times four
Magnitude of gratitude for the time
Cycling thru the ages inviting lore
Moments of doubt and those sublime
The waning crescent moon reborn again
Imploring the hearts of her kinsman
