War Poem by Jack Clev

War

Bang bang sound of a gun
Bang bang another poor mother looses her son
This boy shouldn't be out there in the blistering sun
17 years old should be out with his friends having fun.
Instead he's fighting a senseless war that can never be won
Yet another young life lost to the enemy and there gun.

Nowhere to hide nowhere to run
If you see the enemies figure
Be ready to pull the trigger.
No time for thinking
No time for guilt
In the heat of the battle blood will be spilt
Thousands of lives lost
The goverment not realising the cost.

More jets sent out more tanks more guns
This war no nearer finishing
How long before another thousand lives are sent diminishing.
Suicide bombers can never be defeated
10 even 20 years from now mission still not completed.
Enough is enough no more blood for oil
We have our own battles to fight on our own soil
Stop being so bitter and sour
Why not end the war this very hour.
