War Is An Egregious Blood-Sucker Poem by Hebert Logerie

War Is An Egregious Blood-Sucker

War is an egregious blood-sucker
War is a dreadful and vainglorious monster
War eats and destroys human flesh
War is not afraid to kill babies in their crèche
War turns brothers against brothers
War is hell and greed. War is hate and death
Both kill the strongest and the helpless
War turns sisters against sisters
At the end of the day, what is left
Is senseless, despicable and meaningless.

It's sad seeing young people boarding the plane
Of death. They are sad, emotionless and pale
Their young and fresh faces say it all
No, they are not walking tall
No smiles, no sense of pride! This is insane
Knowing very quickly, they'll face for real hell
They'd have to aim, shoot, and kill in order to survive
They'd defecate in their very special underwear
Before their last breath. They'd swim and dive
And drown in their sweat and urine.Their hardware
Is their friend, their protection. Could you imagine
For a second, for a minute what a soldier has to endure?
What goes on inside the head of a soldier's brain?
All soldiers are martyrs. This is sad. Now is their future
Because our brothers and sisters are still alive
War is no joke. War is death. War is hell
I will not go into meticulous details. Ring the bell
Of peace right now and pray. And give high five
To the pacifists, to the innocent, not to the warmongers
Who only care about the immediate members
Of their family. Wars do not discriminate
Wars kill everyone standing near the gate
Blacks, whites, browns, any human beings
Regardless of their ethnicities and feelings.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
We want peace on earth, not war. We are brothers and sisters. We have enough oil.
