Wash Away Poem by Jessica Dehn

Wash Away

Rating: 4.5

I can hear it now.
That mystic tap.
I can hear it's soothing sound.
I see it falling lightly around,
blurring my vision.
Washing away the film covering my eyes.
I can feel the rains cool caress, washing away
all the old.
Opening me up for the new.
Such welcoming awareness comes over me.
The feelings of hurt, pain, saddness all
washed away. No longer will they touch me.
For the tears of the heavens sooth my battered
soul preparing me for the awakening of a new day.
This wonderful gift I thought would never come has taken me
by hand and lead me away. In thanks to this blissful place,
I will move on! Take my love and joy and pass it on. No longer
will I dwell in the shadow but embrass the dark and the light.
I will remember when all seems lost it will come and cleanse me again.
