Wasted Poem by Under A Microscope

I've built my life and all you see,
to keep you close and safe to me.
I've fought so hard to earn your trust,
and pushed away all selfish lust.
I've tried to love you without conditions,
no asking, or wondering, or ever permissions.
I've swallowed my pride and let you win,
and given you all that i have within,
but now that it's done, we're over and through,
I finally realized that I wasted all my love on you.
