A naked teenager sat on the ground and asked,
'How long have I got''
A long pause,
'About an hour' replied an inmate.
'I've only just passed high school! '
Sadly in an hour she lay dead on the shower floor,
In the infamous camp of TREBLINKA!
Wasted trust a million times over...so so sad
May man never forget!
Oh my goodness. So incredibly sad. Those horrors that were lived through by so many should never be forgotten. We need to remember so that we don't ever forget that pure evil does exist in the world and also so that each day we can remember to give thanks for our loved ones and all we have been blessed with. Although sad, this is a beautifully written reflective poem.
Wasted Trust a million times over... Hard hitting and so hard to even imagine. This history may never repeat, yet still out crys of pain every day. Thank You Ken
Incredibly sad..Hope we never witness these cruelties in our history ever...You have portrayed beautifully in poem. Thanks for sharing with us.
Such dark chapters remain in History as painful reminders of man's combined assault on man in the name of race and creed! With economy of words, the horror is brought in!
Life in the extermination camp is realistically put with economy of words. Hope such things will never happen again on this earth.
The simplicity of this poem is hard hitting. Simple words are always best to describe the horror.
