Wasting Precious Time Poem by Allyson Gordon

Wasting Precious Time

The ruins of my past
Have come back to haunt me
It’s tearing me apart inside
All my memories are surfacing

Again my demons appear
Showing you for who you are
You don’t care at all for meDo you even know I exist?

I believe that love can heal all wounds
Do you believe in love at all?
Show a little remorse for your sins
I hope you feel as guilty as can be

Why am I wasting precious time
Trying to make you see sense?
When I could be regaining the life
You stole from me for so long

You mean nothing to me
I’ve erased you from my thoughts
No more will I hold onto the hope
That maybe you will change

Because you will never change
You are set in your ways
But the worst part is that
You won’t lose a wink of sleep over my absence
