Watch For Falling... - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Watch For Falling... - Lincoln Park Zoo

A meerkat is always on guard.
I watch intently, yes I do,
Even though predators be hard
To find at the Lincoln Park Zoo.
No big birds be flying about,
Attacking in glare of the sun.
Black under my eyes aids no doubt
Seeing a threat in time to run.
So why still constant guard you ask?
Lots of humans be walking by.
Humans be clumsy, so my task -
Any falling object, I spy.

Always on guard, yes I must be,
From humans dropping phones on me.
