Water Poem by Sarah Barron

Water

Full of happiness I reach out and request you dance with me only to be refused. I am quickly saddened and feel it will never happen. Then…you send me water, played on a piano, the music is meant for two lovers to waltz as they gaze into each others eyes they become entranced, their bodies are so close that their heart beats become one.

Memories of past and dreams of future take my mind far away. I see the single Rose you once gave me followed by a Bouquet of Raindrops each filled with a single pink flower. Autumn leaves reflecting in a pool of water that reminds me of Lost Maples.

The lovers on the bridge holding each other as they admire the acquiescent beauty of the cascading waterfalls. Two swans on the lake symbolizing love. The thrusting of the ocean as if we were making passionate love, the serenity of holding each other after wards.

The woman with olive colored skin, long, dark, wet, hair sitting quietly on a sunset beach admiring the calmness of the ocean, waiting and dreaming of her lover.

Crosses atop a white cathedral reminding her of faith and the bells that ring harmony as the harmony he brings into her life.

The silhouette of the lovers pressed hip to hop standing on the beach, his hand gently placed on the small of her back, her hands on his waist the expectation of a kiss. Only love can bring them this close.

The glistening lights on the bridge bring out the twinkle of love you see in my eyes. The dancing water fountains of a place we once spoke of seeing together.

Water is the substance of life without it one cannot live it is as your love is to me, you hold me and whisper it into my ear, I see your lips mouthing the words as you pass me by, those three little words float through the air onto my lips and into my heart.

Your pictures and song fill my eyes with happy tears, you’ve redeemed yourself, you see although your body refuses your heart cannot refuse to make my heart dance with yours. You are my story book lover.
