Waters Of The Crystal Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Waters Of The Crystal

The Waters of the Crystal
To-night
Burn with piercing
eyes
The night swallows
The artillery.

The ants prowl
As the giants
Bird
I saw you through the wires of
The cage
I saw you.
I like you
Live in the cage
The Muse prepared for me
Weep in solitude
And in my emotions
Shock after shock
I suffer.
To you the night
Bring dreams of flight
Free in the heavens
Below
Seeing yourself spanning
Country and towns:
And
All below appear as we see
Ants moving hastily
In trammels.
I saw you
And calculated
How better that you be
Have more joy
Less suffering.
Though Master Time by
Time and Age inure
Acceptance and less
Suffering.
Birth for you was
A conditioned life
For me
A life of trauma after
Trauma and
Tragedy after tragedy
An alley blind
That blocks continually
The more I move despairing
The more I breathe
The more bent on the computer
I suffer, I write for oblivion's
Sake
To add to injury, insult
To deepen the endemic wounds
So many times by my self-hands
Ah! but now cannot reverse
The harm inflicted by the ways
I took.
We,
bird
Together will
Face the last drops
With heavy heart
My heart the heavier
The more suffering
The more sensitive
To the throes of
Fading slow into
An oblivion undeserved.
Work after work
I carried out and
Failure after failure
My friends were:
I saw them.
I saw them.
Now
With bent eyes
I pass by other humans
Who have descent
And I not
Their house full of
Cries and loud tongues
Of happy children
I
Who no sibling had
Was from the genesis
Condemned
And sit alone
By my heart in my
Hands, my head
Not weeping through the
Eyes
But through the heart
Counting the minutes
Just
Into oblivion to fade :
There
Wait the days of
Indifference to add
The pain for lack of
Family on earth
To it
Added the pain
Of in oblivion
Andforgotten dust
This
What I view before me:
Others
View green fields and
Laughing joys and smiles
From the coming ofDawn
Till dusk shielding the Night
Itself fades and goes.
I
See bleak rocks and pebbles
Grey with hostile rattling
On a desert beach:
And the more that I wander
In the hope
Of viewing something better
Wander more
In territory solitary and in
The hands of Sorrow,
Suffering.
So let me be
I am now inured
Fade to oblivion slow and
Cruel
Pain excruciating prolonged
An outcast
Yet a man who once had heart
And brain to feel
And
Recognize his decline.
And
While all this I think
To add to suffering
There added be
The last knife of pain
Of into oblivion
Falling
And resignation after
Resignation
To a deep coma
Sinking
Sinking
Sinking
In the earth and soil
Before my time
When the heavens at last
Take pity on my sufferings.
A vase of flowers faded
Weeps alone.
