Way Back To You Poem by Mahlubandile Phillips

Way Back To You

I walk cruising streets in search of you
The same faces everyday but not you
You say I'm bored no I'm hoping to see
you

As I pass every Street I remember things we did
my way back to you is hard
on my way to you hope, fear draws me to you
my way to me is regret

The street infront the house you live in
I start sweating words begin to slip away
I see your door the gate
Those wonderful siblings I've grown to love
The green grass white walls
Wishing you were alone

I start calling for you first time
unanswered
Second time now I see your hands holding the
door then the face of an angel comes after

Then she smiles I'm derived from sadness
She lets me wait for her
I'm relieved simply to breath
I wonder what's taking so long

There she comes walking works had slipped
from the mouth
Heart beating so fast quickly what to say
I'm crumbling in her presence
But you knew didn't you
I loved you
Know I now just a simple hello
