We Give Poem by Doris Clore Demaree

We Give

Rich men gave God some silver and gold
But kept for themselves all they could hold.
As they gave they were falsely proud,
Praising themselves with voices loud.

The widow gave gladly her offering small.
Jesus, who saw her, said, 'She gave her all.
She has given more than all the rest.'
When I give to God, I too am blessed.
