We'Ll Meet Again Poem by Laurie hill

We'Ll Meet Again

Rating: 5.0

I stand in silence, head bowed down in sorrow.
Cold winds sigh laments unto the sky.
I kneel and touch the mound of earth so frozen,
A pain, a sob for you, I start to cry.

Upon your grave my tears are gently falling,
A prayer is answered by an echoing sigh.
Of the winds, blowing gently through the treetops,
Above this place of peace, where you lie.
I read again, your name engraved in marble,
At your side a winter flower shows through the snow,
As white as angels wings in the moonlight,
Ruffled by the evening breeze that softly blows.

Your name I whisper softly in the silence,
I can't forget, though I know that others do,
For you were the only one I cared for,
And one day soon I know, I'll be with you.

When my days on earth are surely ending,
When my eyes show not the faintest fear.
Those standing round will see that I am happy,
For I'm going to the one, that I held dear.

Life is for living! Yes, you will dance once more in the arms of this love, when the time is right, until then learn new dances...A touching write, with exquisite imaery and emotion. Mo

Beyond beautiful; there seems to be a hush following the solemn words of devotion. When life can offer us no more of that which we most crave, then we are happy to pass to other dimensions, which seem to offer a window of hope, or at least a respite of sorrow.

A stirring and touching poem Laurie. Your rhythm and rhyme flow beautifully throughout and led me on a journey with your word pictures. This is a romantic poem at its best! 10 Karin Anderson

Beauty (of your poem and of your love) and pain intertwined. I ache for you pain. You know I understand, as well as one human can understand the complexities of another's love and pain. Remember, though, that the weight of the pain is balanced by the blessing of the gift of the love that you shared, and still do and always will. This is a beautiful and faithful tribute to the love of your life - and yes, you WILL meet again... Diana
