We make it holy
Saturday,3rd October 2020

Why do we call it a temple?
church, mosque as holy places for the people!
who go there with the firm belief?
and expect some relief

nothing wrong
for singing a song or prayer
if it provided little relief here
and warded off your fear

schools are no less sacred
as thousands of young students are led
with an aspiration
to build a good career and reputation

it has become a costly affair
poor students can't afford to study there
there is an exorbitant rise in school fees
many promising students cannot get an entry

we shut our eyes
and try somewhere
to get admission
and impart an excellent education

we make and spoil
we fail
in our commitment
and present it in an ugly form
