We're Not Done Yet Poem by Alex Reyes

We're Not Done Yet

We met at such imperfect time
Just when I bid, 'clock tick in rush! '
You came and set your dart within.

I began to scrape off the rusts
Which stuck my brakes in ceaseless rides
'cause I won't go forth, but right beside.

I go now at your pace this time
How my eyes can't get off of you love!
You came and set your darts within

You whom I prayed to keep and hold
You whom I choose to be at your pace with
Will make me just a good memory

You're off to chase your future dreams
leaving me my remembrance of firsts
hugs and letters and sweet gestures

Should I wait or let you go?
How can my love to you can't hold?
distance and time is naught, I'll wait!

But should you tell me to let go
I'll let you go for now, hopeful.
He's not done. In His time. Somewhere, someday!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I like her,
I think she likes me back
But she planned to leave the country before we met.Her mind is set on leaving.
If we're destined together, our Father will make way to cross our path again in His perfect time.
