We shall rather die
Friday,15th May 2020
Nothing to eat
but only to beat
the dragon corona's fear
we are ready to bear
let the death come
we shall welcome
we shall not stay anywhere
but go home barefoot to dear ones
never in human history
such plight and agony
we walk under scorching sun
even you keep pointed gun
we blame no one
but it is starvation
that makes strong determination
we are helpless laborer of the nation
it can't be denied
enough has been done and should not be lied
but pandemic has gone deep to affect all
we see nothing else but valiant fall
no where to complain
but to maintain
the sturdy silence
with total surrender and tolerance

Not anticipating this could possibly be the biggest mistake of the decision to clamp down the country at extremely short notice. Though several States are now making arrangements of trains and buses to help the migrants, the measures seem to be inadequate as migrant families continue to walk. Unfortunately, several mishaps are happening on th highways and train tracks, killing several people. Your poem very sensitively touches upon this huge human tragedy. GSP Rao, Hyderabad, May 15,2020
Hasmukh ji, your poem touches upon one of the big tragedies of recent times in India - the migrant labourers walking back to their villages and towns, when the entire country is locked down. Their sheer numbers, helplessness and desperation to somehow get back to the emotional folds of their families, is very heart rending. This is reminiscent of large scale movement of people across the borders during the Partition... GSP rao hyderbad
