We Teach Our Children Who We Are Poem by Shalom Freedman

We Teach Our Children Who We Are

WE TEACH OUR CHILDREN WHO WE ARE

We teach our children who we are
We may try not to in many ways
But they learn from our example
We have no way to ensure
It will be the good things

We teach our children who we are
And they learn from us
What they want and do not want to be

And knowing myself
How I pray
For my children
How I pray
