We Were One Poem by Emma Woods

We Were One

My fingertips lay upon her skin
As her body sleeps pressed beneath me
I watch her dream and hear her breathe
Hearing our rhythm - two heartbeats
I'm scared to move incase she wakes
And the seal to bond be broken
I know to leave for my heart's sake
But tonight my love's been given
Recieved with a smile - desire in hand
I'll approach you tomorrow with care
The brush of your lips help me to stand
On my own two feet while I bare
I'll watch you with him and know what we've done
The time bedsheets between us were none
When pleasure was all we could seek to become
When nothing was right we were one
