Welcome To The Fallout Poem by Daniele Cerasoli

Welcome To The Fallout

The first time I saw you
I thought you were the one
Hair flowing with the wind
Your face as beautiful as the sun.

And then I came to know you
And it all went so fast
From nothingness to friendship
I was in love at last.

We were the same person
Just two bodies split from one
We saw life the same way
You couldn't ever be outdone.

But then, one night, it changed
You broke my heart in two
Doing something I never thought you would
It's like I didn't even know you.

We tried to grasp our friendship
The thing we never thought would fail
But nothing will ever feel the same
Because now it's all so frail.

Hopefully it won't all break down
Hopefully some will stay the same
Because if it doesn't, and you ask why
Only you can take the blame.
