Wellspring Poem by Adam Jeffries

Wellspring

Somewhere, on the edge of the darkness
Is a place where hope springs eternal
Where the warmth of a beating heart
Makes life grand

The search within, for the edge of the darkness
Continues on, seemingly in vain
Rage, passion and sorrow rise
Then fall to nothingness - too vast to circumvent

Teardrops well in my eyes, the wellspring in my heart
Impossible to align myself with a purpose
Unable to define existence

Just living day to day, give what I have, take what I can get
So much more to the man, the man I am not, the man I'd like to be
