Wendy Poem by Genevieve Pilat

Wendy

Rating: 3.5

Did you really think that your actions chilled like ice
Would ever be considered so noble and nice?
Did you ever realize all the pain you gave?
With your passive aggressive ways how can one's sanity be saved?

You live in a mindset so closed off and dated
Why does it shock you that you're so hated?
You harshly judge others by gender, ethnicity and size
Even your family loathes you, though that's no surprise.

With every breath you'd critique and accuse
Only when you needed something you'd praise and schmooze
By the end of it all you'd turn everyone into scum
Whole body and soul would slowly become numb.

This roller coaster of emotions you send people on
Enabled them lifeless, made them your pawn
Yet after years of this torture you'd consistently send
How else could this possibly end?

Those all around you up and left you behind
Hoping their leaving would teach you to be kind
A warning they gave you before it's too late
The path you are walking will lead to a lonely fate.

They hope in time you'll see the light
And discover that actions are cruel and not right
Yet you still keep at it causing others' blood to churn
Will you seriously ever learn?
