What Are You Writing In That There Notebook? Poem by Stephanie Eve Kane Arado

What Are You Writing In That There Notebook?

Blond and spiky you looked down at me
I believe this was your opening line
Your tattoos hidden by long sleeved shirts
Your emotion breaking through a cigarette grin

I remember you looked rugged to me
A survivor stopping to flirt
Following you quickly, you showed your ID
I took up smoking and playing in dirt

You told me that you were a wolf
As you gazed aimlessly at the TV
You asked other girls out right in front of me
I listened to you rather then letting you be

Rebound man you were fun when I saw you
When we parted I studied for my exams
Fate stepped in to give me a muse
For my beat poetry paper and master class
