What Do You Want From Me? Poem by Rachel Brewer

What Do You Want From Me?

I saw you sitting there outside my window.
Your cue ball face creeping through the darkness, staring at me.
What do you want from me?
Your skeletal fingers ‘tap, tap, tap’ the glass, still with your gaze fixed on me.
The tapping turns to scraping, and a deep evil smile forms.
So what do you want from me?
Blood starts seeping from your crooked smile and you began to creep ever nearer.
I hadn’t even noticed that you’d come through the window.
And now you were sitting right in front of me.
Please tell me what you want from me.
The white of your face is nothing, compared to the glow of your bloody eyes.
The smile widens, I see your teeth.
And you take me by surprise.
Now I know, what you want from me.
