What Dreams May Come? Poem by James Darwin Smith II

What Dreams May Come?

What dream may come?
Upon the glistening of eyes
A prospecting dream
Such fortitude in a once enduring heart
That has weathered storms of emotional baggage
Burnt to the agony of the reality of what cannot be trusted
Wishes of non-washy decisions
And judgemental posturing of a rejected flesh's demise
Watery eyes, Frustration causing such unsure cries

Why does it revolve around too much?
Spinning fast inside layers of redundancies
Dying heart suffering through a running maze
Sickened by all of the hypocrisy

Why is love so confused?
The desecrators of its cause seem to have nothing to lose

True romantics singing the blues
Stuck in a blackened corner
Searching for their heart's muse
Being themselves
Refusing to be something they are not
Living life on their merit of choice

The hurt cannot stay down
It is not the way to live
As hard as it all is
Fighting is the only answer
All in the name of love, Self-love

What dream may come?
Upon the glistening of eyes
Hope is so worth struggling for
All for a prospecting dream
A destiny all worth the while

Being positive for love
No matter what the past may have been

Never let those who hurt us win

What dreams may come?
Search for the match to the glistering of your eyes

It is better to believe than not believe
In the dreams that shall keep our hopes alive

Matter shall never
Own our minds

Yes, Matter shall never indeed
Own our minds
