What God Had Told Me Poem by Dr John Celes

What God Had Told Me

I'm no Abraham; I'm no Moses;
I'm not queen Esther; I'm no Ruth;
Yet, I know, God has a great purpose
For my birth on earth
And He loves me much.

My faith in God is still not strong;
I've fallen into sin so often;
The Tempter misleads me all life;
I must be wary;
I must pray fervently.

God has great plans for my future;
God is beside me always;
God cares for me and loves me surely;
He lifts me up whenever I fall;
He took the death upon the cross for me
To repent, and enter heaven's eternity.

As a Doctor, I implore you to think empirically. The natural world has observable 'laws'. That is how reality has worked for me for over 60 years. Ancient texts are not evidence for anything beyond the mindset of the era in which they were produced. Take control of your life, without giving credit or consequence to superstition. Be true to yourself; ask Why to yourself, and be honest with your answer. Peace and love!
