What Happened Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

What Happened

Rating: 5.0

I know you're better than that.
To be in decided divisions that split.
Just to be with others who want to do this.
What happened to your mind.
When was it lost and where did you lose it.
And where was I not to recognize it gone.

It has been said,
Stupid is what stupid condones.
But I don't remember you being this stupid.
At least not so stupid to have it shown.
What attracts you to stupidity.
Why can't you leave it alone.

You can't blame the children.
To claim them to be fools.
They only imitate everything you do.
And when they are reprimanded,
By their teachers in schools...
Who comes to defend,
With such foul language...
Sailors on ships,
Would be too embarrassed to use.

You're better than that.
I've heard you say that about yourself.
When talking about others behind their backs.
Others minding their own business.
When did you stop doing that.
