What If? Poem by James Barrs

What If?

Rating: 5.0

What if the best you have to give is gone?
What if the rest is just downhill?
What if even the good times, weren't so good.
What if your heart isn't empty, and no one cares?
What if you love and no one shares?
What if what you said, can't be taken back?
What if pain is a part of everyday?
What if you've been alone your whole life?
What if no one really cares?
What if you just don't feel like going on?
What if you can't drag yourself out of bed?
What if your dreams are nightmares of death?
What if it hurts to take the next breath?
What if this whole time you've been a fake?
What if she were the only one who new you?
What if she didn't give a damn?
What if you couldn't bring yourself to tell someone else?
What if they all laughed?
What if fear is waking up and going to sleep?
What if half your life is over and you don't know what you want to be?

What if all these questions were really facts?
