What Is Love? Poem by Pierre Alexander

What Is Love?

What is love?
It is difficult to fully understand.
How many times does one think they are in love?
It happens often but true love doesn't process correctly through one’s head.
Love is not evil.
It is not right to use love as a way to use someone.
Love goes beyond our human desires.
But where does love come from?
It all started when God made the first human beings
because he is love.
Through love did he make Adam and Eve.
Through love did he do everything.
Love is not like us humans.
It is eternal; it cannot be destroyed.
When all hope is lost love is there.
The fact that loves exists makes it hard to avoid.
Love is not noisy but calm.
If one could do something humanly impossible,
without love they are nothing.
However, with love they can be happy.
Love is to be able to donate yourself to the other.
Love is to live in the dimension of the cross.
Love is portrayed between a child and their mother.
We should be like a child because they are still learning to love.
The mother does anything for their child.
She is there when they need her,
and she is willing to do anything for them.
Although kids have their flaws, their mother loves them no matter what.
We, humans, do not know how to really love.
Love is not lust.
Love is what God has towards us.
We don’t have to change for God because God loves us the way we are.
We did everything as a child when we are a child,
but we all grow up and put an end to our childish ways.
Physically, we mature but in faith we should also mature.
For now we see things differently than we will one day.
Although it could be hard to love,
we should love because it is better than to hate.
Love is greater than anything in the world.
Love is greater than hope and faith.
