What Lasts Forever Poem by Jo M. Maghirang

What Lasts Forever

What lasts Forever?
I know not at all what it maybe;
For all things come and go,
And so does friends and enemies..
Nothing comes and stays;
Life shows no difference.

Born and die is what we creatures do;
No one lasts for all eternity..

But here, as I sit and write,
I came to realize how wrong I was-
To think nothing goes forever;

We are but the fruits of our memories,
And as our name lives on-
So do we;
Even if death had eaten away our flesh,
The emotions that had been felt,
Changes not at all-
Remaining forever in the hearts of those
That had lived on..
And when they who held our hearts pass on,
Those that will come next will hear;
The tales of lives and emotions that we feel,
And so then, our memories stays
In the hearts of many that we shall Leave behind..
