What Lights Do You See When This You Look Upon? Poem by Colin Breck Boardman

What Lights Do You See When This You Look Upon?

What lights do you see when this you look upon?
With what confusing colours will you frame?
Think that thou shalt find the answer all as one,
As one who thinks they know my gentle game?
With the shining glow that sparkles in your eye
I await with patience, all to show,
Only to allow you my answers by and by
When once you find the secrets I bestow;
For thou must be the prism of my mind,
As each new flight of fancy follows close its destin'd path,
Just as my fair falcons soaring high upon the wind
Are yet still bound to share their master's hearth.
With wonder watch when we the rainbows ride,
Weaving through each hue the bright light hides.
