What May Have Been Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

What May Have Been

Rating: 5.0

I'll never regain those wasted years,
Holding back through many fears,
Those wasted days,
Gone with the wind,
The chances had,
I kept within,
I'll never know what may have been,
The future then,
Was quite unseen,
I wonder how my life would be?
I threw those days away.
My life has been a rocky road,
Emotions running to and fro,
Dreaming by the fires glow,
And wondering,
What if?

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

True, Jayne. We can not reclaim the past. We can only learn from it, to set the tunes of the future. Good one. Top score

'What if' comes to our mind very often. But let go off the past. There is so much to enjoy in the present moment. Dwell only in the present.....
