What Must Come First Poem by Heather Capelli

What Must Come First

Rating: 4.8

Before the hussle bussle of the day
before a million buzzings in my ear
before the things I do not want to do
and all the things I do not want to hear.

Before the bluish light comes tripping in
and floods the bathroom skylight with it's glowing
before the soaps and gels and scrapes and powder
and all the things I do while scarcely knowing.

Before I kiss to wake you with a smile
before the clothes, the cell, the car keys too
before the snuggles and the rushed farewells
before a million things I need to do.

I need coffee.

Before the hussle bussle of the day we must come first to realize this Earth and her beauty. Before a million things you need to do as duties still you need coffee at first but still you need to perceive this world. This poem is very brilliantly penned...10
