Whatever Happened Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Whatever Happened

Whatever happened
To my past
The one
I rejoiced,
Ran away too fast

Like the summer
It had
warmed my heart
Little sprouts
Why didn't
They last

It's now just
rainy days
Is winter cold
here to stay
Or Will the Sun
Ever smile
My way

That little patch
Of grass green
My little garden
I had to preen
Is now left
As dried up sand
My tears not enough
To enliven this land

Just one ray of Sunlight
Just last chance to live
I pray and beseech
For good times
To repeat.
