When Darkness Appears Poem by Dorsey Baker

When Darkness Appears

Rating: 5.0

The sun is
slowly sinking
in the wide open sky
the old man is watching
and waiting
for evening to come
he hears
the frogs
belching in the pond
butterflies
skip across the clear
warm water like flower
pedals in the wind
a few clouds
are rolling in
the old man
trembles as the thunder
loudly sounds
the birds are in a hurry
going south
the old man
is watching and waiting
for evening to come
he is prepared
for the darkness
that is soon!
to appear!

We will all know the darkness one day, but we must take advantage of the light while we have it. An intriguing poem depicting the passing of life.
