When Does The Judging Start Poem by Katherine Perry

When Does The Judging Start

Rating: 4.5

We enter into this world on this glorious day
The day in which you were born
Opening your eyes, staring curiously at the lights
While your innocense slowly meets up with the storm

Years have passed and now you start school excited
to take part
But your desk is in the back of the room
So you raise your hand, excited to stand
In hopes that the teacher will pick you soon

But it didn't happen and now the lunchroom is filled
With kids whom are being so loud
The food isn't great, but you eat even still
Alone in the middle of a crowd

More years pass and today you hear of your school's
first dance
But you have not yet to be asked
While alone in the corner, you hear other kids chant
'I bet you she'll be the one picked last'

Soon you notice things like your hair being short when
everyone elses is long
now your shoes never seem to be the right color
And anything you do right, is always followed by something
wrong
There always laughing, never to stop and think that you
suffer

Instead of growing into a greater sense of self
We are surrounded by the influence of decay
So you hear and you learn by the way people say they have
felt
And always observing in how people behave

Sometimes children are planted in environments they may
not support healthy growth
But if we try and teach our children to love one another
Then their behavior may save another child's hope!
