When I'M Down Poem by Philip Lore

When I'M Down

Baby, now that I'm leaving,
I'm still believing,
I just can't stop grieving,
Cause, I miss you so.

Cathy, I just want you to know,
Never again, will I let you go.
Can't wait to hold you tight,
Hold you close all through the night.

There are times, when I am down,
Always wearing a sad, sad frown,
Look into my heart, I'm sure you'll find,
Goodtimes, shining like a diamond mine.

It's hard for me each time you call,
My feelings rise, and then they fall.
Sometimes your sweet memory's forgotten,
I swear it makes me feel so rotten.

So, take your time... take a rest,
To know your soldiers done his best.
Cathy, when I'm finally home,
Ill never ever leave you alone.
