When It Rains Poem by Rachel BaByBeAr Anderson

When It Rains

I hate it when the sun fades
when the clouds begin to form
yet i love the rain
when we can run around and be free.
The feel of the rain, pelting us like bullets
it feels so calming and good.
It's water brushing us and soaking us through.
making our hair fly down, blinding our eyes.
I hate it when the rain goes away
when the sun reappears
Yet i love the warmth and blinding light
we sit in the tall grass
watching each other
we run through the fields
the towering crops cutting at our sides
the dogs chasing each other beside us
we lay on our back watching the clouds
naming the animals we see in them
I hate it when the sun leaves
and the darkness creeps in
Yet i love the stars
The shining light they hold
it feels nice, laying here, in the cold
naming the stars and talking into the darkness.
Here it's like being in Heaven itself
feeling at peace and close to the sky.
I hate it when the stars fade away
and the sun is born again
Yet i love it's rise
watching it's birth and watching it take its place in the skies.
The the rain comes again
This i both hate and love.
