When Light Fades Poem by Rajendra padhi

When Light Fades

WHEN LIGHT FADES

A dark tree caged me
Beside the sepulcher,
A rhythm of silence flows
In dull gesture,
In what dreariness today
My unsteady mind flows,
The birds of my thoughts
Sported calm in the wind,
The wood possessed me
Deathly my being lost,
An end I always wait
Staring darkness after light
Lost are the caressing days,
I sit leafless snowing life
I die before my death,
Stare darkness so deep
Conceals tears in smile,
The calm tree looks at me
When drifted into the crowd.
