When Night Descends

That's when we were vulnerable
deep in the dark woods
that Christmas
The night erupted in fire
as they launched
the first assault
Those who survived
that first night
came back
to a country
whose citizens
would rather
see a good movie
When night descends
is the time to rally
and fight off the terror
