WHEN POEMS BEGIN TO SPEAK / ONLY OF THEMSELVES

When poems begin to speak
Only of themselves
They die of their loneliness
Of loving nothing else.

To be loved
We need to love
What is other than our selves.
A poem as a person
Thrives
By embracing
Someone else.
