Ain't no future for the present
Ain't no future for the past
Want to be there
When the future comes
But everybody knows that
The future don't last

Everybody trying to be ready
But got to leave
The baggage behind
Got to have the
Right state of mind

The future is a mystery
And nobody knows
What it's all about
Just don't waste your time
Trying to figure it out
Ain't no future for the present

Want to be there
