When The Penny Drops Poem by Anthony J. O.

When The Penny Drops

when the droning silence
devours the empty pages
scattered on the floor;
when all purpose is absorbed
and every stream redirected;
when every thought is ridiculed
by a sense of pettiness;
when words that once
flowed so freely
stop dead in their tracks;
when the winds of reminiscence
have yet to reach the shore;
when to breath becomes to choke
and to think becomes to muse;
when the mind is confined
to a sole, all-obliterating notion
that no reasoning can overpower;

And When Then These
Shackles Burst
, Levies Break
, Walls Crumble
, Towers Fall
, Strings Tear
, Pennies Drop
, Knots Untie
, Boulders Roll
, Burdens Drop
, Worries Fade
, Pains Alleviate
, Obstacles Deconstruct
Troublesome Dispositions Dissolve Into A Fresh Summer Breeze,
Confusions Decompose Into Levelheaded Clarifications,
Doubts Diminish Into A Soothing, Calming, Silent, Assuring Nothingness;
And These Pieces Of Glass Assemble Into The Most Magnificent Mosaic;

Only then has my mind fully grasped what my heart has so passionately been affected by.

And that is my breath-taking, spine-tingling, heart-stopping, over-whelming love for you.
