When You Can't Hear Nothing But A Sound Mind Poem by Dorsey Baker

When You Can't Hear Nothing But A Sound Mind

Its too hard
trying to hitchhike
I'm willing to
pay somebody
if they'll just
let me ride
I'm just trying to
get to Heaven
because I've got some
friends on the other side
You can't confuse me
with no clown
because I never smile
and I
always wear a frown
My spirit
has been broken
a few times in the past
but now
I'm free at last
I didn't come here
for your pity
I just come here
to have some fun
and I can't feel no darkness
long as I'm
standing in the sun!
