When You Trust Somebody

Where should I turn
What should I do
There’s no one to trust
There’s no one left
They’ve all turned against me
I knew not to trust
When you mess with fire
You must get burned
I used to trust them
Now definitely not
I’ve never trusted before
Why should I start now
Every time this happens
And eventually I forgive and forget
But not this time
This time I will NOT forget
There’s only one person to trust
And that’s yourself
Yourself won’t share your secrets
Unless you want them to
Yourself will never betray you
In the end it’s you against the world
So you must learn to defend yourself
To automatically lock down your emotions
To never trust no matter what
Cause in the end
You will only get hurt
So now it’s just me
With no one to trust
I must learn to fight
To defend
And to never trust again
Cause everyone will turn their backs
Right when you need them
They’ll leave when you need help
They’ll ignore you
When you’re uncertain and need guidance
What are these so called friends
They are nothing to you
Like you are nothing to them
Friends are imaginary
Like unicorns and fairies
They don’t exist
They are made up
They’re just someone’s fantasy
Someone who still trusts
But that someone will learn
That there is no one to trust
I’ve learned my lesson
After being burned countless times
I’ve learned, have you
I will never trust again
Cause trust only leads to pain
And I don’t need anymore of that
So the next time someone says
TRUST ME
Look at them strangely
And laugh
Because you know what happens
When You Trust Somebody
