Where Are The Stars Poem by Edwina Reizer

Where Are The Stars

Don't blame me if the
stars aren't in the sky.
The clouds came in and covered them
and you wonder why?
They just couln't take it,
couldn't take it anymore.
They were tired of seeing a heart
that was feeling so sore.

Every cloudless sky
when stars were shining bright
we'd sit outside and watch them
and revel in their sight.
There wasn't a thing to worry us.
Everything was good.
We laughed. We danced
the way two lovers should.

But sometimes good things
don't seem to last.
The happiness leaves
and becomes part of the past.
So don't blame me if the
stars aren't in the sky.
They left when you went away
and now I wonder why?
