Where Has All The Peace Gone? Poem by Bireswar Halder

This beautiful world looks so much of a hell, where's peace gone?
Human beings are turning devils sucking blood of others
Now they are the puppets in the hands of satan all around
They're more dangerous than hungry wild beasts.

Love, compassion, sympathy are no more in human hearts
And vanishing like camphor from the holy books
What makes them so unscrupulous, so barbaric, so rapacious,
What benefits they get by slaying so many innocents?

The notorious kingpins always lie hidden and behind the scene
And use remote control for such inhuman torture and killings
Nobody thinks for eradication of extremism from the world
No saint appears for motivation to be a beacon for a peaceful life.

No safety, security for human beings especially women and children
Extremism makes their face pale as lives toy with death
Nowhere anybody can move fearlessly with peace and joy
What a tragedy for powerful countries, even they fail this anarchy..

If this continues our world will be covered by blood instead of water
And we are to quench our thirst with human blood
Let me fly like a white pigeon for spreading messages of peace and harmony
I am ready to die with bullets for a noble cause on this earth.
