Where Were You When I Stood Tall? Poem by Abdul Wahab

Where Were You When I Stood Tall?

Rating: 5.0

A lot of theories you may propagate
Explaining the causes of my down fall
But let me make you remember
Where were you when I stood tall?

It’s a nature’s proverbial formula
That the one who once was at top
Without any visible fault comes down at bottom
After certain interval or gap

Seeing upon me crash down
You may laugh loud or flash an insulting smile
But could you tell me after reaching top
How would you stop your decline?

Any one reaching the top cannot stay there permanently. Those who climb Mount Everest must come down. But no one can take away the fact that they reached the top and that is recorded for ever. The main thing is to gather oneself and keep working with the same effort that took one to the top. Beautiful thought provoking poem. Thank you.
