While Others Dream Poem by Mildred F. Barney

While Others Dream

Rating: 5.0

Writing words by moonlight
A tryst with you I keep
Recalling happy days and nights.
Awake, while others dream and sleep

An unexpected love affaire
When two people meet
The happiness of souls that sing
Each moment spent together, permanent perfect spring

Seasons go, though lost, without you
I'm glad we had those tender years
When Cupid played so well his part
Fused as one, our new and eager heart

Our seasons over, gone my sweet
My heart beats faint
In dreams your face eludes me
In fitful sleep, no time to dream, alas we never meet

You were an entertainer
Sunny smile, music was your theme
Smiling I remember, in silence as I write,
In moonlight, where lovers whisper words, and dream.
