While The World Is Asleep Poem by Kewayne Wadley

While The World Is Asleep

Rating: 4.5

Our hearts throbbed,
Eyes were open,
Each night around the same time, shes there,
Like a glimmer in the light,
Her voice lulls the shadows to sleep in the still of the night,
Her hands remain still,
Although lost in a dream,
Her voice sheds so much light,
We fell down the stairs of conversation,
Although no pain was felt,
We laughed, we cried,
An invisible seal of the lips each time our voices grew quiet,
Thoughts rained down as tension grew,
What look presented itself in each others eye,
At that very moment,
The throbs that slightly shook our veins, became more like quakes,
The chills of anticipation that grew with the end of each laugh, became more tense,
Leaping further into the furnance that ignited soon as her whisper quivered at the gentle thought of tomorrow,
Shaken was the air that swept through our lungs,
As vividly,
We belonged to ourselves as the rest of the world remained sleep
