When I say I love you
I mean it with all my heart
Like a cookie loves milk
Like a pup loves to play
An artist loves to draw and to create
An athlete loves a rush on big race day

When I say I love you
I mean you're perfect, Babe
How you walk
How you talk
How you turn and how you sway

When I say forever
I mean even while we're apart
I mean I won't forget you
I won't forget us, no, for sure
No way
I mean you'll always mean this much to me, and I will always be yours

That said, you're a free spirit
You go and do as you please
One day it'll be like we never met
And perhaps you'll say hi to me

And then our story can start again

In another life, maybe

And so we drift and drift away
Away from guilt
Away from shame
And so I drift away from the terror of pain and silence
And I do not know where you are for the wind has carried your seeds far, very far

But I'm counting on myself stumbling upon your roots one day
And some day I shall be saved

But for now, I'll think of you
I'll dream of you

I'll be with you in lucid light
And at the center of the world, our world, us
